My wake - up call Patrick brought me Milo and washy washy at 6 am and asked me to get ready.  At 7 am I had the breakfast  mainly its sausage eggs ,some fried snack and fruits.

Mandara hut - Horambo Hut

Altitude: 3700 m/12140 ft

Distance: 12km

Hiking Time: 5-6 hours

Habitat:  Moorland

We start the day continuing through the forest until the trail opens into high moorland.

Trail was so enchanting and took a break to have our box luch at the shelter. We reached Horambo hut around 3 pm. From  Horambo  I saw the first views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks – two of the three volcanic peaks that make up the summit of Kilimanjaro. Horambo lies in a valley surrounded by giant lobelia and groundsel, flora which are characteristic of this semi-alpine zone. Bathrooms are available with running water.
